It has been over four years now since Holden joined our family. His journey started off bumpy and he's had to overcome some health challenges. But the Little Monkey continues to fight his way to becoming strong and healthy. We are so blessed to have him as our son. He inspires us and melts our hearts every day. Thank you for joining us on this journey. We've appreciated everyone's thoughts and prayers.

Terrible whats??

Holden has been quite the mischievous little Monkey this past week. I tried to convince myself that it was all related to the teething, as the bottom canine teeth have not yet cut (yet he's definitely got all the teething symptoms). But I have a feeling our little Holden may be hitting his terrible twos a little early!!! It makes me wonder why they call it the terrible twos!
Holden has learned to communicate yes and no by shaking his head (and he's trying to say the words). Turns out, he now likes NO, much more than yes. He shakes his head NO to just about everything we tell him to do. "Holden, take a bite"...NO. "Holden, it's time to take a bath"...NO. Holden, can Mommy have a kiss?...NO. Let the fun begin:)
Monkey is loving his freedom from the oxygen and cannula as he can now get into everything. He drags around and beats on Barney. He loves to unroll the toilet paper. And he's learned to lift the toilet seat so he can drop his trucks and woobies in the toilet. And diaper changes have become a battle.
As strange as it sounds, I am enjoying this new, yet challenging phase. I'm not saying there are not times that try my patience, but I thank God that Holden is doing so well that we're now experiencing "normal" infant things! So bring on the terrible twos little Monkey. After the 18 months we've had, Mommy can handle just about anything.
