It has been over four years now since Holden joined our family. His journey started off bumpy and he's had to overcome some health challenges. But the Little Monkey continues to fight his way to becoming strong and healthy. We are so blessed to have him as our son. He inspires us and melts our hearts every day. Thank you for joining us on this journey. We've appreciated everyone's thoughts and prayers.

Baby Parker Week 26 Update

We hope this e-mail finds you well as you countdown the days to Christmas and hopefully some time off to enjoy with your families.

Reece and I had another appointment with our Material Fetal Specialist yesterday and overall feel good about the baby’s progress. We are at 26 weeks. Baby Parker gained anther 5 oz and now weighs 1lb 5oz. All of his vitals were good and there was a slight increase in my amniotic fluid. Baby Parker continues to be in the 13% in size – so small but growing at a constant rate.

Although the doctor was prepared to admit me to the hospital yesterday, we made the decision to wait until after the New Year and I will remain on bed rest at home. We will go back to the doctor on January 2 and will likely be admitted to Northside Hospital at that time. The plan will be to give us steroids to help the baby’s lungs develop and then monitor both the baby and I until delivery. Of course the goal is to hold off on delivery as long as possible, since our official due date is not until March 26, however, the doctor does not think we’ll go much past 32 to 34 weeks.

Ultimately, Baby Parker is in God’s hands and we trust he has a wonderful plan for our little guy. Reece and I appreciate your continued thoughts and prayers.

We’ll keep in touch. In the meantime, we hope you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Love,
Reece and Christine

Baby Parker Week 24 Update

Sorry for the mass e-mail, but I wanted to thank you all for the prayers and support for Baby Parker, Reece and me - these past couple of weeks. I've appreciated your e-mails, calls, cards, etc. As many of you know, we had another appointment with our maternal fetal specialist today, and I wanted to give you an update.

Overall, the appointment was positive. Baby Parker (also called BP, munchkin and peanut) grew an additional 7oz, as he was just 9oz three weeks ago. His heart rate is good, organs seem to be developing and he is showing some movement. And while my amniotic fluid is low, it does not seem to have decreased any more in the past couple of weeks. Ultimately, due to placenta issues, it is likely we will give birth to a premature baby. Reece and I are scheduled to meet with a neonatal doctor next week and then return to our material fetal specialist in 2 weeks for another ultrasound. If things have continued to progress, they will admit me to the hospital at that time for constant monitoring and care. In the meantime, I'll be on bed rest.

I know that Baby Parker is in God's hands and that this must be a journey we are meant to take. We have faith that everything is going to be okay. Please continue to keep us in our thoughts and prayers!

Love,
Christine, Reece, Baby Parker and Alex
