It has been over four years now since Holden joined our family. His journey started off bumpy and he's had to overcome some health challenges. But the Little Monkey continues to fight his way to becoming strong and healthy. We are so blessed to have him as our son. He inspires us and melts our hearts every day. Thank you for joining us on this journey. We've appreciated everyone's thoughts and prayers.

Look Ma, no cannula!!

I am just gushing over my little guy!! He is doing great and I am LOVING the times when I can see his sweet little face without the nasal cannula!

Holden's pulmonologist got our email last week and called the very next morning. She was thrilled to hear the news and called him "our little miracle"! We met with her PA this afternoon. She listened to Holden's lungs and said he sounded great. The plan, for now, is to take Holden off the oxygen 1-2 hours, twice a day (spot checking his oxygen levels). Assuming his sats stay up and his breathing is normal, we'll slowly increase the amount of time he is off the oxygen during the day. For now, we'll keep him on minimal flow at night, to ensure that he is getting good rest.
Holden had a play date with his friend Max on Sunday. Max brought his favorite snack, Mickey Ds french fries, to share with Monkey. Holden watched Max eat his fries and then took a taste himself. The boys played well together. And I love that Holden is learning how to share.

His eating continues to improve daily. His new thing is when he gets hungry he waves his hands and says "hum, hum, hum." He first did this while Mommy was getting a coffee at Starbucks. So I ordered a blueberry muffin and a fruit smoothie and he LOVED it!

It has been a big week for Holden! It feels like the flood gates have been open and our little Monkey is being filled with God's blessings!
