It has been over four years now since Holden joined our family. His journey started off bumpy and he's had to overcome some health challenges. But the Little Monkey continues to fight his way to becoming strong and healthy. We are so blessed to have him as our son. He inspires us and melts our hearts every day. Thank you for joining us on this journey. We've appreciated everyone's thoughts and prayers.

Baby Holden Update

Still no major changes with Holden. He had a good day yesterday, taking his whole 1st bottle in less than 20 minutes. (Yeah Holden!) He was cranky for bottle #2 and then did about half of his 3rd bottle. We know as he continues to grow stronger, he'll suck down his bottles with greater ease! His current weight is 6lb. 4.3 oz.

The little guy did not get much sleep during the day yesterday with Mommy, Daddy and Grandma Rosanne visiting. So after throwing a fit for the nurse, he slept through the night.
It looks like Holden may come home in the coming weeks. At home we'll continue to focus on improving his feedings and weaning him off the oxygen. Both should improve with time - as he grows stronger. Doctors plan to do another echocardiogram this week to make sure the pulmonary hypertension is under control. We should know more soon.
We continue to feel the strengh of your prayers for Holden. Thank you supporting us through this journey! Holden's baby steps are going in the right direction, just at his pace!

Baby Holden Update

No major changes over the last couple of days, but I thought I'd post a couple of pictures so you can see how much Holden is growing! He now weighs 6 lbs. 3.7oz. He is slowly improving with his bottle feedings and will now attempt up to 3 bottles a day (with the remaining being tube fed).

Our little angel turns into a fussy pants every evening, crying on and off for about 3 hours. We think we have ourselves a colicky baby. Mommy has been staying late at the hospital each night to try to console the little guy. I am sure many of you will have good tips for us on how to deal with the colic the next couple of months! Thank goodness this is something he'll outgrow!!
