It has been over four years now since Holden joined our family. His journey started off bumpy and he's had to overcome some health challenges. But the Little Monkey continues to fight his way to becoming strong and healthy. We are so blessed to have him as our son. He inspires us and melts our hearts every day. Thank you for joining us on this journey. We've appreciated everyone's thoughts and prayers.

Baby Parker 1/19/08 Update

Just wanted you to know they've moved us to a much nicer, more comfortable and quieter room. We are now in room 127. Direct number is 404-459-1127. Hopefully this will be "home" for awhile.

Today's update on Baby Parker was very good. Both of our vitals were strong. The ultrasound was encouraging as my fluid seems to have increased slightly and the doctors were very pleased with the baby's activity that they saw. Not only was he active (sucking his thumb, kicking, etc). they were also able to see him swallow and use his stomach muscles - all good signs! So the doctors want to continue to take things day by day. I keep encouraging the little munchkin to stay in me a while longer!! I'd love to at least make it to 32 weeks. Or, ideally 36, but I don't know if the doctors will let us go that long.

Reece is here this afternoon and we've been enjoying watching the snow fall - from the nice view I now have in my new room. For those of you who don't live in the area, Atlanta has gotten between 1"-3" of snow! It is beautiful to watch it as it covers all of the surrounding buildings, grass and trees! I've attached one of the pictures Reece took of Alex enjoying it in our back yard this morning (see attached).

We hope everyone is having a great weekend. We'll be in touch when we have new news.

Love,
Christine & Reece

Baby Parker Week 30 Update

Well, we've made it to week 30 (yeah)! We had our appointment with our specialist late this afternoon. Overall, it went pretty well, from the standpoint that Baby Parker grew another 5oz. He is now 2lb 4oz. And while the growth is positive, it was not as much as we all hoped and on the growth chart, the little munchkin is back down to the 9th percentile in size. My amniotic fluid has also decreased (but this can change hour-by-hour). My vitals, along with the baby's continue to be strong.

The doctor did stick to the plan of admitting me to the hospital for constant monitoring. So I am at Northside Women's Center and pretty well settled in. Currently, they are monitoring our little guy, 24 hours a day. Now, not only can I feel his kicks, I can hear them as well!! So for now, we will continue to take things day by day and see how things go. It is too early to predict when we will deliver. Of course we hope to hold out as long as possible. Reece and I feel good about being in one of Georgia's best hospitals for maternity services and have already been impressed with the doctors (Neonatal Specialist) that we met with. But most importantly we take comfort in knowing that Baby Parker is in God's great hands!

I'll try to send another update if things change or when we know more. In the meantime, we continue to thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

I do have Internet access, so feel free to e-mail me, or if you want to call or visit, info is as follows:
